Swell;

My current mood for several reasons. One, I understood what we learned in chemistry today thanks to Polina's notes. Two, today was an A day and I started Driver's Ed. I'm taking it with some pretty awesome people :) Three, I got a mock-audition for honor jazz choir and now I know what to expect on Monday. Four, I got to keep my seat in world lit. Five, I finally get to read the sequel to Vampire Kisses. Six, I finished all my homework for once. Seven, My myspace song is awesome. (it's the first song on my playlist) Eight, I get to eat my favorite meal for dinner. Nine, tomorrow is Friday and I have a good chance of going to see the Wiz. And ten, I just realized that next week is DCON! I get to start my spring break one day early. Ahh, life's just really chill for me right now so I'm swell :)

A Word that Defines Me

So I've been thinking about this blog entry alot and I really cannot define myself in one word. I'm not trying to be full of myself but I think that you really can't define anything in one word. So the word that I'll use is

–adjective
not definable; not readily identified, described, analyzed, or determined.

–noun
something that cannot be defined.

I define indefinable as the one word that sums up everything that defines me. I'm an average Filipino girl who stresses about getting good grades and procrastinate when I shouldn't. Busy with key club, choir, homework, and chores but chill and down for anything. Determined for success with anything I'm given. Quiet when it's necessary but loud and out-spoken when I want to make a point. I will think before I speak. Amused by most things and has the best laughs when I'm with my friends. Loving towards my friends and family because they are the ones that keep me sane. I will be serious when things need to be taken seriously. Simple is what I prefer but I can handle complicated. Happy most of the time because that's my goal in life; the pursuit of happiness. I want to live life with no regret, have fun, and become successful. Most of the time I try to see the glass half full and try to make the best out of everything because being positive is a way better state to be in. I'm open-minded and willing to try anything once because I figure it makes life funner. I do have bad days and I will be sensitive but I do get over them and move on. Friendly because I like to meet people. I think I'm too nice for my own good but it's because I like to help. Respectful but only to those who will respect me back. Smart to know right from wrong. Hungry because I like food XP Obsessed with cleanliness, twilight, jonas brothers and asian dramas. I'm awesome because I sing and want to learn to play the guitar; because I passed AP world history with an A for 3rd quarter; because I make really good spam musubi; because I'm over being embarrassed about things; because I doodle. I'm future Rancho key club president, a singer, a friend, a student, and a blogger. I just can't use one word to define me so indefinable will sum it all up. Shoot! I'm just me :)

Reader Response: Poe

This story starts off with the narrator trying to claim himself not crazy. He supposedly had good hearing and could hear things in Heaven and Hell. Well, the narrator lived with and cared for a man. The narrator liked the man and the man didn't do anything bad to the narrator. The narrator just didn't like the man's blue eye that was blind. It was like a vulture. For a whole week the narrator would watch the man, at midnight, sleeping. He would take his time, take a whole hour just to put his head through the door and shine the lantern on the man's "vulture" eye. The narrator just wants to take the eye out. The night after the week, the narrator attempts to watch the eye again but wen sneaking in the man wakes up. He tries to wait until the man goes back to sleep but he doesn't. During this time, he hears the old man's heart and it drives him mad. He shines the light, the man screams, then dies. The narrator chops the man into pieces then puts it under the floor boards of the man's room. It's already four in the morning and the police show up with a report of the scream. The narrator says it was him and lets the officers search the house. They find nothing and end up in the man's room. He's supposedly out of the country. Well, they are all sitting, talking, then the narrator hears this noise. It gets louder and it drives him crazy. The officers don't notice the noise. The sounds get worse then the narrator admits its the man's heart beating and that he's under the floor boards. He admits to the crime.
"And now have I not told you that why you mistake for madness is but overacuteness of the senses?- now, Isay, there came to my ears a low, dull, quick sound, such as a watch makes when enveloped in cotton. I knew that sound well too. It was the beating of the old man's heart." This line on page 5 represents the story.
The main character was crazy! He's obsessed with a man's blue, blinded eye! He would be the person he doesn't care how things are but if one thing bothered him it would always bother him forever and always. He's super patient because of how he would wait an hour just to get his head just an inch in the door. He thought things through, planning wise. He was very careful too. This was shown when he was disposing the body. He left no blood and even hid it from the police. This was also shown on all the nights he would watch the man sleep because he would never wake him. He was persuasive when dealing with the police because they never questioned his excuses. He must have been strong in order to drag the man out of bed then lift the bed to put it on top of the man.
"My head ached, and I fancied a ringing in my ears." This represents the character, on page 7, because this is when the character starts to go mad. The man's heart beat motivates the narrator to kill the man. At first he wanted to get rid of the eye and in an attempt to do that he kills the man because of this irritation with the man's heart.
It would be fun to make a film out of the Tell-Tale Heart. For the narrator I picture a woman. I picture a woman because I figure women would watch over old men. The person who would play the narrator would be Helena Bonham Carter. I would cast her because of the acting roles she's had like Sweeny Todd. She just has the perfect "thing" to bring the character to life. You can guess that for the man I would cast Johnny Depp. He just has that "thing" also. For the officers I would cast the Jonas Brothers because they are gorgeous.
I wouldn't leave out a lot from the story. I would leave out the whole seven days thing. I'd cut it short to three or four days of staring at the man. I would also cut the waiting for hours just to stick her head through. I would just make it in and just watch him sleeping.
I would add a scene of the narrator and the man during the day. It would be the narrator taking care of the man. With this scene I would have th narrator fantasize about taking down the man's "vulture" eye. It would have to be in some crazy, scary way to show how mad the narrator was.

Today In History

GAHH! Soo we took that unit test for AP World History today. I'm soo disappointed with myself. You don't know how bad I did =/

Well this unit's time period was 1700-1900. During this time, Revolutions were happening like the American Revolution, French Revolution, Haitian Revolution, Latin America's Revolution, and the Industrial Revolution. Colonies wanted to become independent, or they didn't like their government, or wanted to be free of slavery. The Industrial Revolution made a big impact on the world. We would not be where we are today without it. We got steam engines, electricity, the telegraph, better railroads. This led to assembly lines, and better manufacturing of goods. It became better because labor was cheap and dividing work gave better quality of the goods. The telegraph connected the world and technology just got better. New ideas came about like nationalism and imperialism. Slavery became abolished and immigration to the West became big. Austria-Hungary was a Great Power and during the Qing Dynasty there was an opium war. I learned what communism was and it's not a bad thing.

Geez. I guess I learned alot but I didn't retain it for the test. I did my best but I don't think it was good enough. ohh yeah and that essay! Mann. .I really don't like C.O.T.'s.

Today In Math

So I've finally been to math! I haven't been since like. . Friday? That was FIVE days without seeing Zirpoli! X)

Well today in math we got our tests back from the last chapter. I'm "capable." =/ but at least I wasn't "fired." I did better than I expected so YAY ME! After we got our tests back, Zirpoli spent the whole class time doing test corrections. He showed them on the overhead and I got them all down. I realized that i missed questions that I shouldn't have if only I payed attention more.

Honestly, it's really hard for me to because, I guess, of Zirpoli. I just think he can't teach or maybe I just don't like him so I don't try to pay attention? OKAY, I just don't pay attention but I'm trying! or I will from now on :) So yeah I missed the problems that you had to solve for x. Like I solved the equation it's just that I forgot to put the +2npi or the +npi.

Today we were suppose to learn about the law of cosines. He gave us a hand-out of them and that was pretty much it for the day.

And also on the hand-out was Heron's Area Formula. I think we were suppose to learn about it today too. X)
